On Saturday 20th October 2018 Equatoria Community and Welfare Association Incorporated (ECWA) held a boards member meeting and election. ECWA received guest speakers briefly before the meeting and the election started.The guest includes, Hon Stephen Bali, MP & Blacktown LGA Mayor, Hon Dr Hugh McDermott MP Prospect branch and Jake Burgess, Director Sydney Zoo.

ECWA Chairman provide and read 2017-2018 Annual General Assembly (AGM) report. The AGM report motion was moved and seconded before the start of the election. Electoral committee consist of three people conducted the election and the current leadership was voted in unopposed to lead again for two more years.


ECWA outgoing leadership in the meeting was Julious Clement, Chairman, Patrick Dako, deputy Chairman, James Likambo, Secretary General and Alice Achola, Treasurer. Not present was Rita Sokiri, deputy Secretary, Joseph Lamena, Secretary for Information and Khamis Lodiong, Secretary for Social and Cultural Affairs.

A resolution reached according to the constitution was that the election for women and youth representative needs to be conducted. That means respectively Equatoria women need to conduct fair and credible election to nominate community chairlady. chairlady nominated will automatically be Secretary for Women Affairs in ECWA Executive. Then Equatoria youth also will conduct similar election to nominate youth leader. The youth leader will automatically be Secretary of Youth and Sports in ECWA Executive.


The Election has been booked on the 24th November 2018.
