Equatoria Community and Welfare Association Incorporated (ECWA) yearly support South Sudanese Community families and Children in NSW to Celebrate Christmas in western Sydney annually on 25th December 2018. Each year ECWA organises events whose aim is to bring the South Sudanese community together to share their joy and culture with the rest of the wider community. The events is also to target disadvantage families, children and young people who are faced with financial hardship in these Festive holiday. ECWA support those at risk of homelessness or homeless and to avoid being in conflict or incarceration in the hand of law enforcement.Every year in December,

ECWA assists three times more families, children and young people compared to any other month due to increased financial pressure at Christmas with extra bills, upcoming back-to-school costs, special meals and holiday activities for the children added on to everyday living expenses.

Through our volunteers and community kind contribution ECWA held Christmas events on 26/12/2017, we are able to provide gifts, food, entertainment and jumbling castles to children who would otherwise go without. Our appeal for 2018 Christmas includes donation, Santa Christmas gift, food and beverages. The event will showcase traditional dances from South Sudan,

Sudan and other African communities. Participation of talent of aspiring young South Sudanese musicians, arts, Santa with gift to children, food provided for free, awards and thanks to our donors, sub ethnic community leaders, youth representatives, women leaders, and NGOs, much more interesting food & jumping castles for children.

Invitation has been open to South Sudanese ethnic communities, Sudanese-Darfur community, Nuba community, Ethiopian community, Congolese community, Ugandan, Kenyans and Eritrean community to showcase their Cultural Dance in the event.

This is to promote cultural strength as our unity in diversity among the different CALD communities that will participate. Promote social cohesion networking among the community members and between communities or business people. We will in return ask our onors and sponsors to give a speech and present their logo.

The event is held every year. This year event, ECWA will host Christmas and South Sudanese Cultural celebration this year on
